Instant Payment or Long Term?

Instant Payment or Long Term

There are so many different things you can promote as an affiliate.

It’s exciting and freeing, really.

You’re always looking for ways to maximize your earnings.

You want to make sure you’re promoting high quality products that your customers will really love. But, beyond that, you want to earn as much as you can, with as little effort as you can.

One of the questions you have to ask yourself is whether you prefer to have an instant payment as an affiliate or if you are okay with promotions that don’t pay you instantly.

There are pluses and drawbacks to either method:

You might be thinking that the obvious best option is to have an instant payment.

We all want things instantly.

The sooner the better, right?

Maybe.

The Benefit of Being Paid Instantly:

You do a promotion because you want to earn for it.

Should you really have to wait for that payment?

You’ve heard horror stories of it taking weeks or months or longer to be paid for an affiliate promotion.

Sometimes, it’s the fault of the product creator or person paying you.

When you’re paid instantly, that problem melts away.

The money goes directly into your PayPal account (or wherever it’s going).

You get instant satisfaction and instant access to your cash.

You don’t have to wait. Awesome!

Also, you might notice that merchants paying instantly (via JV Zoo or Warrior Plus, for example), will often pay you 100% commissions… that really sounds enticing, right?

It is, and then again it isn’t always, as we’ll discuss in just a moment.

The Drawback of Being Paid Instantly:

Not so fast – this isn’t always a perfect scenario.

For one thing, many great products aren’t available for instant payment at all.

That can be really frustrating. And you wouldn’t want to bypass a product that will be a great fit for your buyers just because you wouldn’t be paid instantly on it – that’s not smart business.

You also have to factor in that you have to consider refunds.

Some people will likely refund the product you’re promoting, no matter how great it is.

That’s okay and it’s to be expected.

But, getting paid instantly can lead to you counting your chickens before they’re hatched.

You have to refund people who ask for it, depending on the guidelines of the seller.

In some cases, the seller or payment processor initiates the refund, taking the money straight back out of your account.

This is a huge problem if you’ve already transferred or spent the money.

Just because the money is in your account doesn’t mean you can necessarily rest easily with it.

The other drawback, to follow up on the 100% commission possibility, is that the merchant is only paying you a commission for the sale of the one product.

They’re getting the email address of a buyer added to their email list.

When they promote their other products to that buyer, or when they promote as an affiliate themselves, you get nothing.

The Benefit of a Long Term Payment:

Before we go further, we should really define what “long term” really is.

Sometimes a merchant will pay you at the end of the month that the purchase happened in, and that isn’t really long, especially for purchases that occurred late in the month.

Sometimes the merchant will wait until the end of the month after the refund period expires.

That can mean 30 or 60 days of extra waiting.

If you trust the product creator (and hopefully you’re only promoting product creators you can really trust) then there’s no problem waiting for a long term payment.

In fact, there are benefits, in some cases.

Typically those instant payment platforms will only pay you for the specific product you’re promoting and maybe the upsell, and nothing more.

That can be okay…

But other payment platforms, like Nanacast allow the product creator to pay you for EVERY product a customer that you refer buys.

So, you might promote one product as an affiliate. You don’t get paid instantly, and you’re okay with that.

But then some of your customers go on to buy more and more and more. Your long term payment is looking even better.

In some cases, you’ll be paid more if you’re willing to wait.

This is how my affiliate program with Nanacast works, at least.

The Drawback of a Long Term Payment:

The drawback of a long term payment is obvious – you don’t get paid instantly.

But in most cases, isn’t that okay?

As long as the product you’re promoting is worth it and you trust the product creator, it’s often to your benefit.

The Most Important Part of Choosing What To Promote Is…

Hopefully, you can see that whether you’re getting paid instantly or long term usually isn’t the most important factor for what you promote.

Sure, promote something that pays you instantly if you need the cash and you find a great product. But, otherwise, don’t be turned off by a longer term payment.

The most important part of choosing what to promote is how the product will benefit your buyer.

You should always put your buyer first.

Unfortunately, too few product creators pay attention to that.

They promote, promote, promote based on what they think will benefit them the most.

The trick is on them, of course.

If you pay attention to what will best benefit your buyer, you’ll be much more richly rewarded.

You’ll earn good commissions but you’ll also earn the trust of your buyer.

Find and promote great products you know your audience can really benefit from, that’s the bottom line.

Try a Mixture:

It also doesn’t have to be one or the other when it comes to instant pay promotions or long term pay promotions.

You can promote a mixture of both.

In fact, that will probably happen naturally if you focus on promoting what’s best for your audience at the time.

Promote some instant payment products, especially when you might not be as familiar with the seller. That way, you know you’ll be paid fairly.

Promote some long term payment products, especially when you know that your buyers will be cookied and you’ll be paid on everything they go on to buy, such as the things you promote for me as an affiliate through Nanacast.

Long Term or Instant? The Choice is Yours:

Ultimately, you have to do what’s going to be best for your business.

Promote wisely to your audience and you’ll end up with a great overall income.

Evaluate each affiliate promotion on a case by case basis.

It’s a great time to be an affiliate in online business. There truly are a lot of different options out there and it’s easy to choose the one that will work for you.

As long as you’re always putting your audience first, the terms of payment don’t matter quite as much.

Social Marketing As An Affiliate

Social Marketing as an Affiliate

The world is social these days.

As an affiliate marketer, you’re well aware of just how important it is to be where your audience is.

It follows that you need to be present on social media. That’s where your audience is likely to be hanging out right now.

In years past, you could really run a pretty strong affiliate marketing business using simple mini money sites, blogs, and things like that. If you targeted long tail keywords (especially product focused keywords), then it was pretty easy to rank and earn as an affiliate marketer.

It’s not quite that easy anymore.

I won’t say it’s impossible—but it’s nowhere near as easy as it used to be.

It’s important to rely on more than just the search engines to be found. The work you do can’t and shouldn’t exist in a vacuum. You have to be where the people are.

This is something the search engines themselves know.

Indeed, social activity is an important factor in ranking. That’s something you simply can’t ignore.

Not only can you get direct exposure for the things you’re promoting, but you can also improve your chances of ranking in the search engines.

I’ll say it again—social media is something you really need to pay attention to if you want to earn more as an affiliate or get started in business as an affiliate for the very first time.

What Social Media Can Mean For Your Business:

When I talk about social media, I’m talking about sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Tumblr, and others.

It’s in your best interest to figure out where your audience is hanging out on social media.

It’s not only important to know where your audience is registered, but it’s important to know where they’re most active.

Follow the Trail Of Social Media Success:

Follow the trail of other businesses and affiliates that are successful on social media.

Which sites are they using and earning from?

No matter which niche you’re in, it’s likely that you’ll find affiliates who are really active on Facebook. They might have a popular Facebook page or Facebook group or something like that.

Facebook is a great place to start.

The very best social affiliate marketers are probably making sales of products as affiliates in ways you wouldn’t even notice upfront.

They aren’t just spamming these sites with their affiliate links left and right.

The best affiliates build up their audience.

They take that Facebook page or Facebook group or whatever it is and build up a responsive and loyal audience.

They share things that audience is interested in learning more about.

They answer questions, ask questions, and just generally show themselves to be important and loyal members of that audience.

They become an authority to their followers.

Again, they don’t just post about their projects all the time. But, they probably do share of themselves.

They might talk about things that are going on in their life or business.

They share about things they’re working on.

Also, instead of directly promoting the heck out of things on these social platforms, they’re working hard to build the right way. They likely funnel traffic back to an email list.

They know that social media sites might not be here in the years to come – at least not in the way they exist today.

So, they get their followers on an email list.

They probably build their email list by giving things away for free. In a way that benefits the reader, they frequently direct people to get something for free and join their email list.

It’s only then that they promote anything.

And, they continue to build a relationship with those on their list.

They combine affiliate marketing, social media, and email marketing in a really masterful way.

Who’s doing this in your niche?

It can be helpful to take notes to come up with ideas for how you might use social media to promote products as an affiliate.

Get Started Using Social Media as an Affiliate:

Note that this isn’t something you should just plan to do sometime in the future.

Take the time to build it into your schedule now.

Doing that can really pay off for you in major ways.

Get your social accounts set up, if you haven’t already. Make sure you brand yourself, even as an affiliate.

Try to get consistent handles/names on each of the sites you join:

Note that it’s not all that important to be on all of the social sites – it’s best if you focus only on the ones that really matter for your business.

That’s the benefit of doing some digging beforehand.

You can figure out which matter for your business and which aren’t quite as important.

Most niches can benefit from being on Facebook, I believe.

Work to build your audience:

You want to build real relationships over time.

You shouldn’t waste time when you’re on social media.

Now that you have the goal of building your list and promoting products as an affiliate to those you meet and find on social media, it’s important to treat this like a real business.

When you’re on social media, make sure it counts.

Share the posts of others:

Post things your followers will really appreciate.

Talk about what’s going on with you and things that will interest your followers about the industry/niche, etc.

Post hints about products you’re looking at or reviewing.

When you do link to things, don’t link using straight affiliate links. Instead, link to freebies you’re giving away to build your list.

The promotion comes later.

Make sure you’re doing this in a way that’s exciting for your audience:

Remember that they’re seeing a lot of other stuff on social media so the things you’re posting really should stand out and interest people.

Continue To Build Your Audience:

Your goal is to make money by promoting things as an affiliate. That means continuing to build your audience.

You should try to make posts others will want to share.

Grow your community and following using these platforms.

Social media is a very quickly changing landscape. It can really benefit you to keep up with the changes.

You might become an early adopter to new social sites you have a strong feeling might really take off within your audience.

If you’re there first, after you’ve established yourself elsewhere, it can really help solidify you as a leader.

Build relationships:

Build a solid following of brand evangelists.

If you do that, it will be easy to get people on your list and promote affiliate products to them.

They’ll trust your reviews and recommendations because they’ll have come to know, like and trust you over time.

This is great for business –and it can leave the door open for creating your own products or joint venturing with other product creators in the future so you can grow your business and income.

Social Media Can Be Great For Affiliate Marketers:

Note that I’ve recommended you don’t just use social media to post affiliate links.

As tempting as that might be, it’s a terrible decision for business. It won’t lead to anything good.

What will lead to good is if you follow the advice I’ve laid out for you here, to best use social media as an affiliate marketer.

This is the way to grow your affiliate business using social media.

This is how you can build a real, sustainable business using social media.

11 Bite Sized Tips To Boost Your Website’s Conversion Rates

11 Bite Sized Tips To Boost Your Website's Conversion Rates

Having a website these days can be challenging.

There are customers to keep happy, advertising to do, and of course security to maintain in order to protect the integrity of the site and your customers.

With all of the important steps involved to make sure your business website is a success, conversion rates should be taken into account.

So what is a conversion rate?

Essentially, a conversion rate is the number of visits or “hits” you receive on your website that change over, or convert to, a sale. For example, if your site were to get 100 visits in one week and one person made a sale, you’d have a 1% conversion rate.

Effective advertising is important in ensuring a higher conversion rate.

Making sure your website is noticed and that the product you’re selling is very clear is essential to success.

Getting the hits is important, but finalizing that sale is even more important.

A good website that does a lot of business is much more involved than many people might think.

A lot of factors go into ensuring that visitors click on and then actually buy items they see.

There are many things you can do to get the most conversion rates possible which means those website views and random clicks actually turn into cold, hard cash (otherwise known as sales).

Here are 11 helpful tips to ensure that your website’s hits and simple clicks and visits turn into actual sales.

1. Color is important:

Be sure you choose an appealing color theme for your website.

This should be universal throughout the site, and look appealing to the eye. Psychologically speaking, colors really do influence how people perceive things.

Do a little bit of research and look for colors that will go with your overall business type and the attitude you’re trying to project.

This is not limited to just the font and background colors. It also applies to graphics and wallpaper that you might use on the website.

In some cases, white is better so decide which pages need extra background color and which ones do not.

2. Logos say it all:

When you create your website, think about a company logo first and foremost. This logo will be an absolutely invaluable part of your conversion rates.

Good company and website logos enhance the feel of your site, and create brand recognition.

When people recognize the brand or product because of your logo, the odds are they will have better faith in your goods and services, which results in a sale.

3. Make the website easy to use:

Be sure your website is easy to navigate.

Divide the site into sections and make each page look professional.

People will want to buy your products only if they get a complete description of them. Otherwise, they may shy away and turn to another site.

4. Shopping carts should be easy to use:

Choose your shopping cart software carefully.

Include an area for promotional codes, sales tax, and make choosing shipping options easy.

This really helps so that customers can see the total amount of their order before they check out, and can easily add or delete items from their cart as they shop around.

5. Security is number one:

Ensure that your website’s SSL Certificate is up to date.

The small lock at the bottom of the website ensures people that you are secure and that their information is completely safe.

This will not only instill confidence in the visitors, but will protect you from liability in any potential cases of fraudulent activity.

6. Headlines, headlines, headlines:

The headline of your site is usually the first thing people see when they click on the home page.

You want the headline to be catchy and something they will easily pass on to other people.

Make sure the headline is snappy, intelligent, and unique to your site.

7. Incentives help increase conversions:

Tantalize people with free gifts, or free months’ supplies of your products can help convert that hit over to a sale.

Free shipping, or a coupon code that allows for a certain percentage off of their total purchase are also both good incentives to offer.

These encourage people to buy something since they get a freebie or a discount so they can save money.

In today’s economy, free shipping is a huge bonus and will almost always encourage sales.

8. Affiliate programs work:

Choose a good affiliate program.

Affiliate programs offer people incentives for directing visitors to your site in order to get sales.

The affiliate can get revenue from the sale, free products, or other things that will get them to promote the website.

Strong affiliates are vital for launching your own products.

Remember to keep in touch with your affiliates on a regular basis and encourage them to promote for you!

Affiliates can do wonders for your business, so c ome up with a good template that affiliates can use to publish on their own websites and include in their own emails.

9. Customer service can keep them coming back for more:

Be sure you offer thorough and efficient customer service.

People will not return and will tell others about the website if they are not receiving top notch customer service.

This includes technical support as well.

Make sure you are able to answer all customer questions and help people in a timely manner so they will want to buy from your website.

People who get less than stellar service often never return.

10. Make your return policy clear:

Customers want to know they have 100% satisfaction guaranteed, and that they can return items they are not happy with.

Be sure your return policy is very clear and shown somewhere where people can easily find it.

Some customers will not make an online purchase if they are not assured that it can be returned.

11. Privacy is important:

Aside from the return policy, you also need to include a good privacy policy.

Make sure people know their information is protected and will not be sold to a third party.

A privacy policy should be easy to find and easy to read. You can use several different templates, as long as the company name is changed, and you revamp some sections of it to fit your business.

Conclusion:

If you even use just a few of the tips listed here, you’re well on your way to getting a higher conversion rate.

Please remember that just a few changes can do wonders for the sales rate of your website.

By trying new things, making needed changes, and testing your results, you will be on the fast track to getting sales you expect and deserve.

Look at your data on a daily basis so you can get a feel for what customers are thinking. It also allows you understand the things that are working as well as the things that are not.

Never be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to having your own Internet business.

New ideas are what make people successful, and what makes them stick out to customers.

Know what you want, and have a goal in mind.

By writing up a mission statement and creating a realistic goal, you will have a prize to keep your eyes on.

This helps to encourage success, boost confidence, and help you to continue on. Also, if you decide to hire people such as Live Chat operators or telephone customer service reps, be sure you’re using the best people possible.

All of the elements shown here have an impact on how your conversion rate will do.

By implementing a few changes, you will be amazed at how you can turn people who just click on the site for a quick look into people who actually buy the things you’re selling.

A few small changes as well as constant and thorough testing should bring some awesome results, as well as the money you expect when you own your own business.

Patience is the key, as well as creativity, and a great looking website.

Affiliate Marketing: What Is It?

Affiliate Marketing What Is It

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make an extra income.

Once you have everything all set up and ready to go, you can begin making an income from your efforts.

Affiliate marketing is when someone else pays you a commission or a percentage of what you sell for them.

For example, a coffee business may pay you 10% on all sales that you make for them.

This is how it works:

When a business decides that they would like to have some help selling their product or service, they will then start an affiliate program.

When they do this, they are allowing others to sign up and sell their products or a particular service that they are offering.

The ones that sign up to the affiliate program have multiple ways that they can market the service or the product that we will get into later.

However, the company that needs the help selling the product, will then give all of their affiliates a unique ID number that they can use in their links, and so that the company can see who the sale came from when a sale is made from an affiliate.

There are many different types of affiliate marketing programs.

There are those that offer one time commissions off of a sale. Some of them might offer lifetime commissions, and others may pay just for leads that you can get them. Whether it is for a newsletter lead, or something else.

Just having interested parties sign up for things for more information is another one.

The type of affiliate program that you choose to have is completely up to the person that is the owner of the business.

They can decide the percentage, or flat rate that they are willing to pay for a sale or a lead.

Then those interested can sign up and help them make sales and get leads for a certain amount of money.

Those signing up for affiliate marketing, and different programs to sell for others, can do this many ways.

They can promote the services or the products on a website that is relevant to the affiliate programs that they are a part of. Or they can also promote them on a blog.

Both of these are great ways to get traffic to your affiliate programs and make sales from them.

Some even use email and newsletter marketing as a way to get sales for others as well.

Which ever technique and way that you decide to use is up to you.

Once you have chosen the affiliate programs that you are wanting to market, you will then need to be sure to read all of the rules and stipulations for that program. Because all of them will be different.

Some may not want their name used in the URL of your website, and some might also not want the particular product or service that you are selling for them used in the title tags for the page, or anywhere else on the page.

Because of all of the different requirements and stipulations that you have to read, you may even need some software to help you sort it all out and decide which one is the best for you and your affiliate marketing business.

Choosing the affiliate marketing programs that you want to go with is not hard to do at all.

Choose something that you know about, and that you can be known as an expert about.

The more passionate you are about the service or product, the better, as it will shine through.

Once you have all of your programs in place, check out SEO, and find out how to get your website up on the first page of the search engines.

This is going to take hard work and determination, but you can do it.

Affiliate marketing is something that anyone can learn. Start out by reading a good ebook or blog by someone that is a pro for the best marketing tips and techniques that you can use.

Learn from others that have done and accomplished what you are trying to do.

Affiliate Marketing Rules

Affiliate Marketing Rules

So you have been wanting to get into affiliate marketing, and want to know the rules.

You have your website and or blog all set up and ready to go.

You have chosen your niche and market that you want to promote and are ready to start making money.

Now you just need your links.

Promoting other’s services and products is not something that is difficult to do.

However, you will find that with all of the many companies that offer affiliate programs, and referral options, they all have their own rules that you must follow.

Affiliate marketing is pretty easy to follow, that is unless you have many different programs that you are a part of.

When you start getting so many that you cannot remember the rules, or the guidelines that you have to follow, you might have a problem.

This is because the rules for affiliate programs are as different as the companies.

Each company is allowed to make their own rules.

However, you might see many similarities.

That does not mean that they are copying one another, or cloning their affiliate program so to speak, but yet it means that they have the same rules.

Affiliate marketing rules can be so very different.

They can range from not mentioning the brand names that they sell anywhere on your website, to not have that particular market in your website URL.

Because they are so different for each program and company that you promote, you are going to have to be sure that you read each one well and make sure that you understand it fully.

If you all ready have your URL for your website, you may not be able to participate in some of the affiliate programs.

This is because you will not meet the requirements for the rules.

Another rule that you are going to see often when you are into affiliate marketing is the page rank rule.

Some of the companies that will allow you to promote their services or products will not want you to have a higher page rank than they do.

Nor will they allow you to have a website that is higher in the search engine rankings.

For example, if you were promoting coffee, and you wanted to become an affiliate for Folgers coffee.

Your website would not be able to come up above the official Folgers coffee website in the search engine results when coffee, or Folgers coffee is used as the search term.

The companies that have this rule in place for their affiliate marketing programs feel  as if your website were higher than theirs for the product that they are selling, that it would hurt their business tremendously.

And, it just might.

They would rather have the straight sales any day, than the commissioned sales.

Who wouldn’t?

Keeping a spreadsheet of the affiliate marketing programs that you are a part of and their rules is a great idea.

This way you are never confused and know just where you need to stand to be a part of that program.

This is the best thing that you can do for your affiliate marketing business.

Not only that, you will also find that some of the sites that have broken rules and have been caught have resulted in law suits.

Cover your tracks and make sure that you are following the rules that are set by that company for the best results.

You will also find that there is a thing that is called affiliate marketing software.

If you can find a program that fits your needs and will help you keep everything straight, you may not have to worry about keeping track of them yourself.

Use your software to keep track and make sure that you are doing your affiliate marketing the right way.

Your efforts will pay off eventually, and you will be glad that you went by the book and followed the necessary affiliate marketing rules.

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck.

Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them.

Actually, it is more complicated than that.

It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today.

With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing:

Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting.

It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them.

Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product.

Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page.

Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information.

Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers:

If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed.

Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box.

According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again.

By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed.

Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email.

As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first.

Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product:

Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back.

Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length.

By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services.

If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs.

You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.

Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving.

Don’t Make These 4 Common Affiliate Mistakes!

Don’t Make These Common 4 Affiliate Mistakes!

Myths concerning affiliate marketing are appealing and attractive.

People who do not know the entire system the wrong way round are prone to believing that it is something capable of giving them great fortune overnight.

Stories concerning affiliates who earn tremendous amounts of money swim in their heads, and while these stories are as true as they can be, there are those who believe that they are going to have the same fortune once they indulge in this particular business.

It is true enough that affiliate marketing is financially rewarding.

People who have gone through everything to be able to succeed in this business are reaping the seeds that they untiringly sowed.

Many of them enjoy the kind of existence that was not possible for them to have had under ordinary circumstances.

Having gone through the A-Z of affiliate marketing, however, these people are the ones who know that while such business is lucrative, there is absolutely no easy money in it.

Ignorance of this fact is one of the main reasons why there are people who fail miserably in the internet business.

There are those who believe in myths concerning the easy money involved in systems such as affiliate marketing.

They do not know that there are those who have wasted time, effort and too many resources in trying to pursue the life of ease that they believe this business will give them.

And so they go into affiliate marketing armed with nothing but myths and fantastical notions of wealth swimming in their consciousness, never realizing that they bound to make mistakes that would prove to be their downfall.

What may be the reason why in businesses such as affiliate marketing, many are called but few are chosen?

Perhaps the answer lies on the fact that many affiliates make mistakes that result from their ignorance of facts concerning how the entire business runs.

Affiliate marketing is not as simple as an affiliate promoting a merchant’s wares through his website and getting paid for it.

It is also about knowing the market and the customers at hand.

Discovering what the most common mistakes affiliates make can perhaps dispel the gloom about myths surrounding affiliate marketing by correcting some wrong notions about it.

It might also be able to make those concerned understand that like any other business, there are dos and dont’s involved in this one if they want to make each of their steps count.

The first common mistake affiliates make is their lack of knowledge concerning principles involved in their business.

This refers to the affiliate’s knowledge of search engines in particular.

Affiliate marketing involves advertising, and advertising through the internet could not have been better without the existence of search engines.

What every affiliate has to do is to make these search engines his best friend through studying search engine optimization closely.

This way, he is able to know what to do in connection with building a better website to ultimately use for his business.

The second is that affiliates make the mistake of stuffing their sites with banners that do not provide enough information about the product at hand.

The best way to battle this mistake is to provide good content hand-in-hand with such banners.

It is important for customers to know and understand the features of a product, and good content will be able to help them realize this goal.

The third is that there are affiliates who make the mistake of promoting only one product.

Consequently, customers are not given enough options to choose from.

There is also the risk of generating fewer sales as compared to having more options for customers ponder about.

It is always better to give them a few better alternatives than to give them only one.

The fourth is that there are affiliates who make the mistake of promoting too many products.

As a result, customers are confused and end up beyond making a choice.

It is perhaps good to give them only the best choices.  This is because it is ultimately up to them to judge which one is the best for them to patronize.

All in all, affiliates that are doomed to fail in this business are those who do not exert enough effort to understand everything involved in the industry that they are in.

Knowing their path step by careful step will prove to be beneficial to them, as there is no other way to succeed than to go through any path slowly but surely.
